To answer the demand for talented human resources and to inspire young students for studying STEM-related fields and especially photonics, the Finnish Photonics Flagship PREIN and Photonics Finland have started a Photonics Explorer Kit – sponsorship campaign.

The award ceremony on Tuesday 26/05/2020 was a success! 66 viewers saw which groups won prizes.

The second degree of the Lucerna College in Anderlecht was immersed in science during the project day. They received workshops on photonics and AI during their visit to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel last Friday. A first introduction to the university and photonics for these youngsters!

B-Photonics will present the PHABLABS 4.0 workshops at the Brussels Mini Maker Faire on 6 and 7 December 2019. These are open source workshops in photonics that can be freely used by teachers, among others.

Science is fun! More than 800 pupils of the second and third grade of secondary schools discovered this during the whirling and interactive photonics science show of last Monday 4 & Tuesday 5 February.

The project “XuvenCiencia - Hago, luego aprendo” ("Xuvenciencia, I do, then
I learn") trains 70 teachers from 50 different schools in the use of
educational kits. Among them 15 Photonics Explorer were distributed.

The winners of the 'free Photonics Workshops Toolkit' are announced! 10 Fab Labs and 10 schools will soon receive the toolkit of their choice and will be able to test it with the correct target group.
